Me&Pause

Menopause represents a new paradigm in which women’s roles evolve.

Since we can not reverse aging, we conceived the Me&Pause concept intending to relieve the concerns arising from this stage, providing solutions for skin and hair.

Menopause is a natural state typically occurring in women between their late 40 s to early/mid 50s, marking the end of their reproductive years. It is the physiological and definitive cessation of the menstrual cycle which is consequence of the decrease in ovarian function, and a reduction in the production of estrogen and progesterone.

Menopausal women face unique concerns that need to be recognized. Maintaining both physical and mental well being is crucial for ensuring their overall health. Menopause marks a turning point in a woman’s life.

Menopause marks a turning point in a woman’s life. How can we, at BASF, address the needs of this stage?

Since we can not reverse aging, we conceived the Me&Pause concept intending to relieve the concerns arising from this stage.

The Pause
With menopause comes a pause in metabolism, as well as a pause on the way of acting and behaving. This pause can be viewed positively, as it allows women to refocus the energies towards the start of a new phase of life.

The Me
Menopause represents a new paradigm in which women’s roles evolve. In this new stage, woman has the opportunity to shift her priorities and place herself at the forefront focusing on understanding what she wants and needs from now on and recovering former projects.

Our Solutions for Skincare

With Me&Pause our aim is to significantly impact overall self esteem and happiness by providing formulations that promote skin and hair health and beauty.

Effects on the Face

Upon entering menopause, many women experience a change in their skin. The estrogen depleted skin is often associated with more pronounced signs of aging, particularly on the face.

Effects on Eye Contour

The skin under eyes is more delicate and thinner than the rest of the facial area, making it more vulnerable, exposed and prone to dehydration. Owing to our facial expressions, the eye contour area consists in a thin tissue involved in the majority of our movements, resulting in the accentuation of the expression lines within this area.

Effects on lips

The skin of the lips is different from the rest of the body. It is considerably more delicate and fragile, lacking both the same protective layer of cells and the sebaceous glands that continuously keep the skin hydrated. As a result, the lips are particularly susceptible to the effects of hormonal dysregulations typical in menopause.

Effects on body

Hormonal fluctuations also can impact on the appearance on the body’s skin, particularly in terms of tightness, fat storage and smoothness.

Effects on the Hair & Scalp

A lesser known aspect of menopause is its impact in hair appearance. Similar to what happens with skin, the scalp & hair undergo unprecedented transformations that require specific attention and care.
